With a beach in mind, we decided to just up and go from Taipei for a day trip to Fu long Beach. To get there we took the TRA, the slightly slower, but cheaper way to travel around Taiwan. You can get the TRA in Taipei from Banqiao Station, Taipei Main Station, or Songshan Station to Fulong Station.
It took about 1.5-2 hours to get to Fulong Station from Taipei. As we arrived, we were greeted by a warm sun piercing the sky. The clouds were playing around in the sky, but the upward blue blanket was vast. We decided to get some lunch before we headed to the beach. Eating our lunch picnic style was a fresh break from the regular indoor chug.

To our surprise, Fu Long Beach was closed *wince*. There was only a small section open to the public and it was not the least pristine, but it was a beach nonetheless. We enjoy our short time on the beach. The more cluttered and smaller beach of Fu Long was sprinkled with others, but no one stayed for long.

We had our small blanket and picnic and the smaller part of Fu Long Beach, and then we headed back to Taipei. The trip itself was good because my sister was in town to visit me for the Winter break. Nothing can stop a powerful and positive mindset!

So, going forward, we should definitely plan better and try to foresee things that might be closed. Future research about areas will be an essential task for lowering chances of closures. Anyways, I hope when you visit Fu Long Beach you have better luck than we did. Keep traveling, plan smart, and keep smiling! 🙂
